Piano Lessons
I teach a comprehensive range of keyboard skills and performance techniques, as well as guiding you through music theory and how to interpret music effectively. I specialise in classical piano repertoire (for both soloists and accompanists), and am experienced in preparing students for examinations, music college auditions, recitals and concerts. A number of my students have won places to study at UK conservatoires, including The Royal College of Music, The Royal Northern College of Music, The Royal Welsh Academy of Music, and Birmingham Conservatoire.
I cater for students of all ages and levels of experience. I enjoy teaching both adults and children, and always tailor lessons to the particular demands and tastes of each individual player. Perhaps the most important lesson for any developing pianist to learn is how to practise. I will help you to structure your practice effectively so that you get the very best out of your time at the keyboard each week.

I do most of my teaching from home in Aylestone, Leicester. All lessons are taught on either our fine Yamaha C3 grand piano or our professional-grade Yamaha U3 upright piano. If you are interested in early music, you can also play our spinet (harpsichord) or clavichord, both made by John Morley of London. For organists, I also have a decent two-manual digital organ at home, and access to a proper two-manual pipe organ nearby in Western Park. My wife Roxanne is also a musician and teacher. We have two teaching rooms and a separate waiting room with magazines and WC for your convenience. Parents are always welcome to sit in on lessons if they wish, or use the waiting room, as they wish.
